Position Overview: 

The successful candidate will serve as an Energy Management Analyst for the 99th RSC, US Army Reserve, Fort Dix, NJ.  The position will be assisting the 99th RSC with meeting the goals of the Army Energy Security Implementation Strategy, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct 2005), Executive Order 13423 "Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy and Transportation Management", and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA2007). 

Security Clearance: Able to pass a government background investigation
Travel: Approx. 25% continental U.S. travel required

Responsibilities: 

The candidate will:

  • Assist in the development of an Energy Plan for the 99th RSC to ensure sustainable design principals are incorporated into engineering and planning activities.
  • Conduct engineering evaluations of proposed projects to reduce energy consumption and utility costs.
  • Conduct site visits to US Army Reserve facilities and develop recommendations to optimize energy efficiencies and performance.
  • Develop project estimates and life-cycle cost analysis for proposed energy projects.
  • Provide recommendations for prioritization of projects based upon engineering evaluation, life-cycle costs and available funding.
  • Review and analyze emerging technologies for application at US Army Reserve facilities.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of combined education and experience in sustainable design and energy efficiency projects.
  • A state driver's license.
  • The ability to travel approx. one week per month, primarily in the Northeast U.S.
  • The ability to inspect facilities which requires extended periods of walking and standing, bending, crouching and lifting.
  • LEED Certification is desirable, but not required.
