Position Overview: 

This position is responsible for the development of ECOtality sales and business relationships within the Washington State market area. The position is directly responsible for promotion and sales of ECOtality infrastructure including, commercial charge infrastructure, public charge infrastructure and fast charge infrastructure and the development of recurring revenue opportunities.

The position reports to the Area Manager and works in concert with the local Sales Manager, Field Services and Project Management personnel. This position works to ensure that customer relationships are established and maintained in accordance with ECOtality standards of excellence.

The successful candidate will have some combination of the following experience: Electrical engineering or contractor sales; contractor business development including familiarity with electrical systems and estimating; technical sales experience; deep contacts in local commercial real estate; experience with a project management based sales process including cloud - based CRM's.

Responsibilities:

The Sale Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Assist the Area Manager in development plans for annual sales goals of EVSE
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a strategy for the sale of ECOtality EVSE to governments, businesses and contractors in the market area.
  • Identify leads and opportunities for sales of ECOtality on-road products.
  • Prepare product information and sales materials with support from Marketing.
  • Develop local strategy for leveraging the EV Project.
  • Conduct sales meetings and close sales in assigned area.
  • Provide follow-up support for National Accounts located in the local market area.
  • Research and analyze competitor positioning in the market area and surrounding states.

External Relations:

  • Establish and maintain an area presence for ECOtality with business interests.
  • Refer National Account prospect information and contacts to National Account Manager. Provide follow-up support as requested.

Corporate Coordination and Reporting:

  • Coordinate local activities with ECOtality Area Manager, Sales Manager, Field Services and Project Management personnel.
  • Timely prepare periodic reports detailing progress toward business development goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date status on leads, opportunities, accounts and customer information in the ECOtality Customer Relations Management (CRM) system.
  • Interface with ECOtality Sales Fulfillment for proper submittal of sales documentation.
  • Provide effective turnover of sold accounts to Field Services for final installation contract negotiations and product installation. Provide support for negotiations as requested.
  • Maintain positive customer relations and leverage testimonials for future sales.

Qualifications:

Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree, Business or Technical
  • Sales experience in the high tech or electrical industry sectors in a competitive environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Proven success prospecting, building a pipeline, moving opportunities through the sales cycle; proposing, presenting and discussing solutions with C-level and other decision-makers
  • Strong confident personal demeanor in customer sales atmosphere
  • Ability to manage a pipeline with multiple accounts and partners
  • Customer centric consultative approach to sales
  • Strong team and consensus building skills

In addition:

  • This position requires the individual to be based out of the Seattle area
  • Must be able to travel up to 25-40% of the time.
  • Qualified candidates will be required to conduct an in-person presentation and submit a writing sample.

Success Metrics:

  • Quota attainment.
  • Pipeline quarter over quarter growth.
  • Training and support of partners.

Compensation: This position is a salaried, full time position. Sales incentives will be incorporated into the position in calendar year 2012.
