Sustainability Manager Role and Responsibilities

  • Build and implement a sustainability strategy that advances our industry leadership position
  • Partner across our lines of business to deliver innovative solutions that align with our strategy
  • Collaborate with partners, suppliers, and customers to drive change across the value chain
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure and report on our sustainability performance
  • Measure and track Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions according to industry best practice
  • Build and manage relationships with strategically important external partners to stay informed on emerging trends, standards, and issues that may impact the business and wider industry
  • Build external community networks and communicate as the face of Emerald’s sustainability program with our customers and suppliers

Experience

  • 3+ years experience in sustainability with proven track record of building and operationalizing sustainability strategies
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strategically minded and commercially astute with a proven capacity to translate information and ideas into actionable plans
  • A credible thought leader experienced at engaging with and communicating to key internal and external stakeholders, across a variety of initiatives and industry forums
  • Experience communicating to audiences with the willingness to represent the company’s interests at the highest levels
  • Experience anticipating future trends across the industry to influence, create and drive strategic impact, engagement and communication
  • Strong internal collaboration skills and proven experience working across multiple teams
  • Proven experience designing meaningful goals and KPIs to measure sustainability performance
