Job Summary

UKA is looking for a full time Prospecting Team Leader. We are growing and our headquarters is located in Stuart Florida.

The position of Prospecting Team Leader will be part of the Development Team reporting to the Head of Development. This role is responsible for Identification of suitable project areas in target markets for wind and solar energy.

Travel: Up to 25% of position, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Technical management and coordination of the group
  • Identification of new project areas in target markets using a standardized screening criteria
  • Development and further refinement of processes and workflows (i.e. site selection criteria) for the efficient exploration of project areas and coordination of work results with the Head of Development.
  • Documentation of all processes
  • Verification of incoming invoices for correct invoicing of third party services
  • Preparation and presentation of new project concepts for management approval
  • Coordination of team input including supporting experts (finance, resource and others) for specific inputs to project concepts
  • Preparation and presentation of due diligence results for acquisition projects
  • Assess resource potential (project output) using software tools and in cooperation with other resource experts
  • Identification of land availability, land owner support and community acceptance in project areas
  • First personal contact with land owners in the project areas (either self perform or land agent) to identify the general interest of the land owners, competitive situation, etc. in consultation with the Head of Department
  • Site visits to self- assess new project areas
  • Coordinate initial environmental assessment, aviation, tax, and other relevant factors for new sites in coordination with the Head of Department
  • Prepare or obtain the necessary maps, GIS and land owner information
  • Transition approved project sites to the assigned project development team
  • Participation in further education and training measures
  • Research on public opinion on renewable energy projects in the project areas

Support of the head of department if required in the following aspects:

  • Development and implementation of exploration and acquisition strategies
  • Evaluation of the exploration criteria
  • Identification of project areas to be explored (area identification) and regular reporting
  • Guidance and control of the ongoing success in exploration and acquisition and, if necessary, adjustment of strategies in coordination with the management board

Qualifications

Education & Experience::

  • The position requires +5 years of professional renewable energy experience and a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or another relevant program
  • +3 years of team leadership experience
