Scout Clean Energy is a renewable energy development company headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. Our team brings over 60 years of renewable wind and solar energy experience, specializing in leasing, permitting, interconnection, power marketing, finance, and construction.

Position Overview

Scout Clean Energy is seeking candidates for the position of Financial Controller. The Controller will lead the activities of our accounting department across locations.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the accounting operations of the company, including systems and compliance.
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Manage treasury process.
• Assist in annual budget process.
• Facilitate annual audit and quarterly tax requirements, as necessary.
• Direct performance initiatives and process improvements for the accounting department.
• Execute various projects at the discretion of management.
• File appropriate reporting obligations to federal, state, and local agencies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of key accounting principles including GAAP. IFRS is a plus.
• Excellent computer skills with advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with an ERP system.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving business environment.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
