Description

~ At the Center for Biological Diversity, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature and to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. ~

Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters and climate that species need to survive.

We want those who come after us to inherit a world where the wild is still alive.

Position Overview

The Center is currently looking for a full-time Border Wall Campaigner to organize and advocate against Trump's proposed wall to be built on the U.S.-Mexico border, and for the protection of the endangered species, lands and communities impacted by the militarization of the U.S.-Mexico borderlands region. This position is located in Tucson, Arizona, and is in our Public Lands Program.

The Public Lands Program works to protect America's public lands ' national forests, deserts, wildlife refuges and parks, and all the species we share with these lands. The Center combines innovative legal work with grassroots campaigning and organizing and media in our advocacy.

The Border Wall Campaigner will work on legislative, administrative and policy advocacy; litigation support; and grassroots organizing and media outreach designed to protect the wildlife, public lands and communities of the U.S.-Mexico borderlands region from ongoing and planned border security activities and infrastructure, with an emphasis on organizing national and local resistance efforts to Trump's proposed wall on the border.
