~ ecoPartners works with landowners and project developers to build successful forest carbon offset projects. ecoPartners specializes in the technical aspects of project design, planning and development: remote sensing, biometrics and accounting methodologies. ~

ecoPartners is working with numerous landowners to implement sustainable forest management practices and to monetize the resulting value of sequestering carbon.

We are actively developing projects in Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Panama and Ecuador. We have served as technical consultant for about half of all validated and verified REDD projects to date, accounting for over 12 million tons of verified carbon reductions on 1.7 million hectares worldwide.

Position Overview

ecoPartners, a global leader in ecosystem project development, is hiring an Associate Analyst to join our start-up team located in Berkeley, California.

The Analyst will perform spatial analysis tasks on behalf of our clients engaged in forest carbon project development. Work involves analyzing land cover using ArcMap, acquiring historical satellite imagery, compiling data for analysis, documenting work products and assisting with project development.

The Analyst will primarily support development of several forest projects in Latin America. The Associate Analyst will also play a key role in the development of ground-breaking technology to trace deforestation-free supply chains as a part of a global initiative to improve the environmental performance of forest conservation.

This position is a permanent, full-time appointment starting in March 2017. Most work will take place in our Berkeley office with occasional travel to Latin America. All applicants must be proficient in Spanish.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Proficient in Spanish.
  • Hold an associate or undergraduate degree with a demonstrated interest in GIS, natural resources, forestry or environmental studies.
  • Have introductory-level experience using ESRITM ArcMap (coursework and/or hands-on experience).
  • Have good communication skills, including oral and written.
  • Have good time management and self management skills; able to take direction and work independently to reach identified goals on a set timeline.
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive project deliverables.
  • Committed to solving the environmental challenges of our time.

Compensation: Initial compensation is $42,000 - $60,000 per year depending on prior experience. Plus, up to $500 reimbursement of qualified relocation expenses.
