Position Overview

The Department of Biology and Geology at Baldwin Wallace University announces a tenure-track position in Environmental Science to begin August 2019. The Department seeks an individual with experience in and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, student advising, and directing undergraduate research to contribute to a newly-created interdisciplinary environmental science major.

Responsibilities

  • Candidates are expected to develop and conduct laboratory and/or field experiences, participate in curriculum development and assessment for the Environmental Science program, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the University’s First-Year Experience course.
  • All faculty members are expected to participate in professional development activities, service to the department and university, and faculty governance.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in environmental science, macroecology, paleoecology, geology, geography, or related field required.
  • Areas of specialization are open, but preference will be given to candidates that can teach a wide variety of courses at all levels, including, but not limited to, introductory environmental science, geographic information systems (GIS), and climate change.
