Position Overview
ESS seeks an experienced energy project development manager to lead technical consulting and multi-level regulatory reviews for new-world power generation and renewable energy integration projects.
This position requires demonstrated understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects of siting, permitting, and constructing a variety of fossil and renewable energy generating and storage technologies. This position also requires demonstrated skills and experience to manage multi-disciplinary consulting team activities, business development, networking, and client management leadership responsibilities for a variety of regulated utility and commercial power development projects.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary team activities and strong client relationship and management skills. Must also be proficient in project proposal and business development leadership skills.
The successful candidate will bring positive personal energy and intensity as well as the ability to energize others to achieve continued growth of our Power and Renewable Energy Integration services.
Qualifications
The following experience is required for this position:
- 10+ years of proven project management and consulting team leadership for multi-disciplinary project assignments for power and renewable energy facilities.
- Proven abilities and experience with business development, managing technical professionals with diverse expertise, and client relationship management.
- Experience in traditional fossil fuel generation, renewable energy systems integration, linear transmission interconnections, and related multi-jurisdictional project reviews.
- Experience with regional transmission organizations, regulated utilities, and commercial project developers.
- Management and technical experience directing and preparing power project licensing documents and supporting environmental technical studies.
- Experience guiding and mentoring junior professionals to assist development of their technical, business development, and client relationship capabilities.
- Proven abilities to represent company at business development and professional sales and networking events to build brand and new customer business bases in this market area.
Other beneficial experience:
- Experience with related government advisory and industry stakeholder groups.
- Familiarity and experience with preparing and providing subject matter expert testimony.
- Capability to assist in companywide business planning, networking, and business development planning and execution.
- Regional project consulting experience.
The position requires the following minimum education and skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in related technical discipline with demonstrated subject matter expertise.
- 10+ years of relevant consulting and business development experience.
