Position Overview

Hannahville Indian Community is currently seeking an Aquaponics Expansion Project Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • This full time position manages the day to day operations and assists with expanding greenhouse business opportunities.
  • Assist with all aspects of crop production including purchasing supplies, propagation, potting, fertilizing, watering, pest and disease management practices and maintaining environmental controls.
  • Other duties consist of business development and marketing, hiring and managing grower staff, providing customer service, implementing inventory control and ensuring the upkeep of equipment and facilities.

Qualifications

  • Expertise with hydroponics/aquaponics including drip, ebb and flow, and NFT systems, as well as HID lighting configurations.
  • A flexible work schedule to include some weekends is required.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of hydroponic plant production (vine and leaf crops) and personnel management skills with proven ability to be self-motivated.
  • Experience with organics and USDA certification a plus (we seek to become a certified organic hydroponic grower). Will supervise youth and adult employees and volunteers working in the greenhouse facility.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Aquaponics, Agronomy, Crop Science or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in controlled environment greenhouses/aquaponics facilities.
  • Experience marketing and selling produce.
  • Experience maintaining a Revenue and Expense sheet. Knowledge of aquaponics systems design and operations.
  • Basic computer knowledge-Windows, Excel, Word.
