~ World Energy is a leader in production a distribution of low carbon fuels including biodiesel and renewable diesel. The company is experiencing rapid growth as North American motor fuels market continues to evolve toward the cleaner fuels the company has long championed. ~
Founded in 1998, World Energy produces and operates biodiesel manufacturing plants in Houston, Mississippi, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Ontario. In addition, World Energy has also recently invested $85M in the acquisition of a renewable diesel refinery, distribution terminal and pipeline system located in the all-important Southern California market.
The company has initiated expansion projects that, when completed, will make it the largest producer of biomass-based diesel in North America. Earlier this year, World Energy took on a substantial new partner to accelerate growth in both scale and reach. In addition to expanding its manufacturing capabilities, the company is dramatically increasing its focus on its sourcing and downstream supply chain activities.
Position Overview
World Energy, LLC is currently seeking a Renewable Feedstocks Trader.
Responsibilities
- Trade a variety of physical feedstocks on our Renewable Fuels Desk
- Identify key markets and originate new business to increase market share, while contributing to the growth of the existing book of business
- Generate and build business relationships with major biofuel producers
- Develop an understanding of the landscape within the market including product knowledge, industry challenges, legislative and geopolitical changes
- Represent the firm at conferences and engage with stakeholders within the industry
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Economics, Business, Agriculture, Environmental Studies or a related field
- 2-5 years of relevant sales, trading, merchandising, or business development experience
- Dynamic, "outside of the box" problem solver with a "roll up your sleeves" mentality
- Highly self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly
- Ambitious, innovative and team oriented; this highly valued role will require an intelligent professional with a commercial skillset and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Presentation and client communication skills are essential
- Takes ownership for decisions and is accountable for actions regardless of the outcome
- Willingness to travel
