Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 50,000 members and 90 chapters worldwide.

Position Overview

The Surfrider Foundation is currently seeking qualified candidates for a position as our Corporate Development Coordinator at our headquarters based in San Clemente, CA.

This position reports to the Director of Development and provides support for corporate sponsor activations and events as well as coordinates new partnerships.

The Corporate Development Coordinator is also responsible for assisting with the management of all corporate relationships and Surfrider Foundation-led events and promotions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination and facilitation of corporate-partner initiatives and activations, as well as national-scale events
  • Interact daily with Surfrider Foundation chapters, activists and volunteers in support of key initiatives
  • Provide necessary logistic and administrative support, including responding to general requests, organizing and preparing materials and mailings and maintaining records of partnership agreements and departmental expenses
  • Oversee chapter product support including fulfilling and keeping record of requests
  • Assist Director of Development with day-to-day department operations
  • Assist and work with Corporate Sponsor contractors as needed
  • Vet potential partnerships
  • Additional duties as needed
  • Reports to Development Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree plus 3+ years of experience in event planning and execution or development field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Detail-oriented , works well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present ideas and plans clearly and effectively
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Adobe CS / CC is a plus
  • Comfortable working on MAC platform

Compensation: This is a full-time position with medical/dental/vision benefits; 401K plan with partial employer matching, Section 125 FSA options, vacation and sick pay.
