We work with architects, builders, commercial owners, non-profits and the government sector to provide consulting services around sustainable building design, LEED certification, energy modeling, and more.

Position Overview 

The Green Engineer, Inc., seeks an individual with a passion for sustainable building design and construction to join our team as a Project Manager for Sustainable Design Consulting. 

Responsibilities  

Responsibilities of the Project Manager include:  

  • Manage all aspects of the sustainable design process including LEED/CHPS consulting on projects ranging from small commercial tenant fit-outs to multi-million dollar new construction projects.
  • Manage client and external team throughout the project, including communication (written and verbal), expectation setting, problem escalation and resolution.
  • Provide detailed milestone document reviews for consistency with project sustainability goals.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of work produced by internal and external team members (LEED documentation including required calculations).
  • Prepare, facilitate and manage client meetings.
  • Provide leadership, training and education to external project team members. Act as subject matter expert for project team, field personnel, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Facilitate sustainable design workshops.
  • Assist external team members with the LEED/CHPS documentation and perform QC reviews on their submittals prior to submission.
  • Develop final LEED/CHPS documentation and submit applications.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to generate additional project work.
  • Participate in business development efforts including proposal writing and marketing.
  • Research green building technologies, trends and materials as needed.
  • Oversee internal budgeting, scheduling, and other managerial aspects of projects.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members. 

Qualifications 

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Policy, or similar program, and at least four years of relevant professional experience. 

  • Project management experience in leading project teams, providing client service and managing multiple projects with independent schedules and budgets.
  • LEED Accredited Professional, with experience on multiple LEED projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with “Green Building” practices, policies, technologies etc.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and as a team player.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Experience presenting information to all levels of internal and external constituents. Has ease and full ability to present information to clients and lead project meetings and conference calls with multiple parties.
  • Demonstrated success managing client relationships, staff and projects.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, Sketchup and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of four of years experience in related field.
