Mechanical Service Technician

Position Overview

Plumbing & HVAC Service Technicians are primarily responsibility is to have the ability to diagnose plumbing and HVAC issues related to control wiring, plumbing knowledge, HVAC installs, diagnosing HVAC issues and at times working on our mechanical team to get jobs done efficiently and with high profit margins when needed.

We only promote up through our business and we are growing fast. Those who can establish themselves as great crew members will quickly have the opportunity to become Mechanics and run a truck.

The hours for this position are: 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm.  

Qualifications  

Job Requirements 

Plumbing experience - with three to five years minimum experience in the following: 

• Bank ground on how a boiler operates and its functionality
• Residential job installs
• Ability to promote working in a clean environment
• Knowledge of control and line voltage wiring
• Soldering 

Gas and Oil fired boilers which we install: 

• Burnham ES2 (GAS)
• Burnham MPO (OIL)
• Navien NCB (Combi-Gas)
• Bosch Greenstar-151 (Combi-Gas)
• Weil-Mclain (Gas Steam)
• Burnham IN (Gas Steam)
• Burnham Mega (Oil Steam) 

DHW's / Indirects we install: 

• Rheem (Gas)
• Bock (Oil)
• HTP SuperStor (Indirect)
• Smart (Indirect) 

HVAC experience: Three to five years minimum experience in the following: 

• Residential job installs
• Ability to promote working in a clean environment
• Knowledge of control and line voltage wiring
• Basic on the job duct fabrications
• Brazing
• Understanding of proper charging methods
• EPA Universal certification is a PLUS 

Knowledge of the equipment we install: 

• Comfortmaker CAC systems:
• Conventional AC
• Central Heat-pump
• Fujitsu ductless
• AC & Heat-pump configurations 

Additional Requirements: 

• Willing to prepare job sites, identify parts/materials used in boiler installs. 
• Able to operate power tools (drills, sawzalls, right angle drill, pipe threader). 
• Able to lift at least 75 pounds. 
• Able to solder copper pipe, thread pipe on a rigid 300 machine. 
• Public transit is not an option.
• Must have a bank account, so direct deposits can be made. 
• Superior verbal communication skills. 
• Must have a valid and CLEAN New York Driver's License, in order to drive a company truck. 
• Able to pass a criminal background check and provide work references. 

Preferred Requirements: 

• Ideally, the candidate will have at least five years of trade experience in plumbing and HVAC. 

Reporting Relationship 

Plumbing / HVAC Service Technicians report to the Master Plumber and Lead Tech who acts as their mentor, trainer, and manager. 

You Must Have: 

• Strong ambition for building a premium service for homeowners. 
• Internally motivated to do first-class quality work. 
• Comfortable putting team goals ahead of individual goals. 
• Comfortable communicating effectively with a team to create a better work experience. 

Compensation: Annual compensation expectation: 50k-60k (depending on experience) plus benefits. Benefits include health care & dental as well as 10 days paid vacation, 3 paid sick days, and 6 holidays.
