Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall project planning, design, execution, and closeout of utility scale PV monitoring, supervisory control and data acquisition projects. The Project Manager is the client's single point-of-contact and serves as the client's advocate throughout the entire Draker project delivery process.
Responsibilities
Project Initiation:
- Review the scope of work for each project with the Sales team to ensure Client needs are identified.
- Identify gaps and risks, and generate risk mitigation plan.
- Establish project budget and preliminary schedule.
- Communicate with external and internal stakeholders to ensure the budget and schedule as well as project delivery requirements are established.
Project Planning:
- Hold project kick off meeting with client and internal Draker team.
- Coordinate detailed information gathering with client.
- Ensure all information required to complete the design is received and passed to the project team.
- Evaluate initial scope of work, and based on new information, coordinate with client to adjust the scope of work as necessary.
- Forecast resources required for project execution; compare to "as-sold" scope, determine if change control is required.
Project Execution:
- Direct the execution of each project.
- Communicate with client as necessary to apprise them of progress, changes required, or delays.
- Coordinate activities of engineering, field services, and web services team, by ensuring team members understand client requirements and schedule.
- Oversee timely submission of project deliverables.
Project Monitoring & Control:
- As needed, conduct meetings and calls as appropriate with clients and project team to guide project progress, identify and mitigate issues and risks, and to facilitate effective communications with all stakeholders.
- Continually monitor project progress and scope to determine if the change control process is necessary.
- Coordinate with Sales to initiate change control.
- Monitor project activities against the schedule and budget.
Project Closeout:
- Ensure client acceptance is obtained for all project deliverables, including engineering submissions, hardware delivery, and field services.
- Ensure web page is operational and transition ownership of project to Account Manager.
- Conduct post project lessons learned review.
- Archive relevant project information.
- Close out all remaining open project procurements such as consultant services, open purchase orders, or subcontractors.
- Ensure project invoices are paid by client, and that subcontractor resources are paid.
Other Technical Requirements:
- Assist and lead Draker initiatives to further develop and refine the Project Delivery Procedures.
- Use client relationship to help Sales develop future opportunities and assist in Business Development activities as necessary.
