Position Overview

Do you want to become a contributing member of a consulting team that is committed to excellence? REI Engineering, Inc. is recruiting an entry level environmental scientist to join our team of professionals in Wausau, Wisconsin. Be a part of a small company where you can make a big difference.

Transform complex and creative ideas into reality. Our team of 40 dedicated individuals work together to provide dynamic solutions in civil engineering, land planning, surveying, and environmental and regulatory compliance consulting to our business partners throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

Environmental Investigations and Environmental Due Diligence:

  • Perform project specific field work, which includes: 
  1. Scheduling
  2. Coordinating subcontractors
  3. Collecting soil, groundwater, surface water and vapor samples for environmental investigations via hydraulic push soil borings, hollow stem auger borings and hand auger borings
  • Data entry of collected field information into tables, maps and reports for site characterization
  • Evaluate, analyze and interpret technical data relative to project-specific goals, create and interpret accurate data display graphs and figures, and identify data gaps and data needs
  • Write reports and letters, develop plans, and implement steps to move projects forward in the most cost effective manner
  • Environmental Reporting (Assist our team in the following areas)

Environmental Audits:

  • Air Permit Compliance
  • EPCRA Compliance (Tier II, Form R, etc.)

Emergency Spill Response:

  • Work as part of the emergency spill response team.
  • Respond to spills and conduct remediation follow up and reporting

Qualifications

  • Soil Science, Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Engineering Degree that will meet the requirements of an Environmental Scientist as defined in Wisconsin Administrative Code (WAC) Chapter NR712 
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Be willing to learn
  • Be personally motivated
  • Take pride in being part of a successful team
  • Have less than 5 years of experience 
  • Have a desire to grow personally and professionally with each project
