Position Overview:
We are looking for energetic and outgoing people who share our values to staff Next Step Living community and private Outreach Events. Event Representatives are responsible for connecting with and engaging event attendees to educate them on our no-cost Home Energy Assessments and various Next Step Living products & services. If event attendees qualify for our programs, Event Representatives will collect contact information and schedule assessments. Full training will be provided as well as all promotional materials and AV equipment for properly displaying at events.
Driven, energetic and passionate Event Reps will excel and have high earning potential in this role. Part-time, flexible availability is required; you must be available to work 4-6 hour events on weekends. There are limited weekday events available. Successful Outreach Assistants can make $15-25 per hour. High energy and high producing Outreach Assistants will be given priority when management is staffing & scheduling events.
Responsibilities:
- Attend Next Step Living community and private outreach events
- Set up, staff, and break down event displays
- Actively reach out to and engage event attendees, educate them on our no-cost Home Energy and Solar Assessment programs and, if qualified, collect contact information and schedule assessments
- Gain familiarity with all aspects of both our Home Energy and Solar Assessment programs
- Attendance/Punctuality - Consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrive at meetings and appointments on time
- Ability to be trained in new techniques and program guidelines when/if necessary and apply those trainings to day-to-day operations
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3-year's canvassing, door-to-door sales or community outreach experience and familiarity with quotas preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have own, reliable transportation, preferably with GPS
- Must be outgoing and motivated to learn and teach the public about energy efficiency
- Must have a valid driver's license and accessible vehicle to attend events
- Should have knowledge of Word Processing; Spreadsheet; Database; and Contact Management software
- Experience with Salesforce customer relationship management software desirable
- Access to or owns a laptop computer or tablet that can be brought to events
- Ability to work with customers and discuss topics such as energy efficiency, weatherization, and alternative energy resources
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community
- Organized problem solver with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of foreign languages a plus!
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, carry up to 60 lbs and follow instructions
- A car is required to transport promotional materials and to travel to various event locations
