Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a Midwest Regional Sales Manager to join our US Sales team. This position will be accountable for the management and development of Nature's Path grocery, health & natural channel business, consisting of a network of direct reps, brokers, distributors and retail accounts to build revenues and increase market share.

Resonsibilities:

Critical outcomes for this role include:

Achievement of pre-determined Sales and Spend Budget by:

  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for a specific regional market to ensure attainment of company sales goals and objectives.
  • Manage sales support staff in the solicitation for sales of the Company's products.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Provide excellent merchandising and category re-sets to support sales growth.
  • Assist customers in resolution of complaints in order to facilitate the continuation of re-orders for the Company's products.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
  • Creates and understands promotional budgets and activities for the region by the distributor and/or account.
  • Manages the internal tracking system to identify actual versus plan and works with Finance and Sales Support to target plan.

Achievement of Broker, Direct Sales Force and Distributor management by:

  • Setting Promotional Planners and Goals for each of the assigned Distributors.
  • Setting Sales and Spend Goals for Broker and each Direct Sales Rep.
  • Reviewing these goals quarterly along with setting additional goals.
  • Working with the Turntree system to provide reports to the DSR's on a regular basis to help build the sales at retail.
  • Acts as a mentor to the Direct Sales Reps, creating teaching opportunities and providing stretch targets for growth and development.
  • Facilitates and ensures individual and team sales roles and responsibilities are understood, performance measurement objectives are identified, reviewed and monitored on an ongoing basis in order to provide feedback on accomplishments and immediate action is taken to remedy shortfalls.
  • Provide Qualificaitons: training, support and evaluation of other sales personnel.

Qualificaitons: 

Success in this role will require:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline preferred, or other job-related or equivalent business experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in sales in the Natural and Grocery Trade.
  • Experience in managing Brokers and/or Direct Sales team.
  • Proven track record in a retail environment.
  • Thorough knowledge and ongoing awareness of current sales and business development concepts and practices.
  • Experience with broker networks and retail sales.
  • Demonstrated ability working with key software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in an open and direct manner; conveys information clearly and concisely, with strong, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle.
