Position Overview:

This position will assure product quality and customer satisfaction through the integration of quality systems as they relate to existing and new products, supplied materials, and test methods. Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with development and implementation of operational programs. Virtually self-supervisory. 

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering to correct non-compliance and/or recommend process changes to meet quality system objectives/requirements.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to all functions in conducting effective investigations, CAPA's and validations.
  • Works with Production Supervisors/Managers to continually evaluate production equipment, materials, and methods. 
  • Assures product quality and customer satisfaction through the integration of quality systems.
  • Assists in the enhancement of quality processes and systems.
  • Leads critical to quality alignment initiatives with suppliers and customers.
  • Facilitates SPC/Corrective Action meetings, interprets condition of SPC charts, and determines corrective actions.
  • Establishes, analyzes, and reports quality trends for key quality indicators from manufacturing and assembly to assist company decision-making process.
  • Reduces and controls manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming materials and customer complaints.)
  • Develops and implements product quality plans, documents, and systems by creating product specifications, quality specifications, quality plans, and risk analyses.
  • Develops and implements process monitoring systems by identifying critical process steps, which could culminate in possible sources of manufacturing defects and devises methods to reduce process variation in order to reduce or eliminate the cause of defects.
  • Validates new processes, develops and implements IQ/OQ/PQ, analyzes data for validations, aids engineering staff on risk assessment and verification.  
  • Addresses customer application issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in a Quality or Manufacturing role.
  • Must have training and/or experience with process engineering and manufacturing management.
  • Have a strong background in problem solving employing statistical techniques; Kepner Tregoe a plus.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and be results-oriented.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma training essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and associated Pall policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of environmental impact and chemical handling.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001 Standards.
  • Experience managing Internal and External Audits.
  • Experience managing Supplier Quality and conducting Supplier Audits.
  • Knowledge and application of Statistical Process Control.
  • Understanding and experience in the application of FMECA and DOE.
  • Experience in Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping for process improvements.
  • Teamwork and Cross Functional experience to reach shared goals and objectives.
