Camp Burgess for Boys and Camp Hayward for Girls are traditional brother-sister overnight camps located on opposite shores of Spectacle Pond. Our program provides campers with an engaging and supportive environment that encourages hands-on learning, self-expression, leadership building, and an appreciation for the natural world.

Join our fun and friendly community, where a supportive atmosphere will give you the opportunity to develop your teaching technique, learn new skills and explore the local environment. Our location is the perfect place to teach, learn and live, surrounded by three freshwater ponds and just 15 minutes from the ocean both north and south. Positions are available for spring, summer and fall giving you the option for a three, five or eight month experience. We do prefer people to stick around to enjoy all three seasons.

Seasonal Program Overview:
- Spring: We provide a range of environmental and teambuilding programs to diverse groups. Parents and teachers have described the program as being a "right of passage" in their communities.
- Summer: We lead week-long Adventure Trips for Teens. We provide service learning and outdoor leadership opportunities for participants. Activities include surfing, sailing, kayaking, biking and more on Cape Cod and the Islands.
- Fall: We offer extensive teambuilding programs to middle school, high school, and college students. We also spend more time on maintenance of the property and harvesting from the farm!

We are looking for hard-working, flexible, motivated, and enthusiastic individuals who are excited about the natural world and looking to spark a curiosity in the people that visit our facility.
The Outdoor Education Gurus will be responsible for providing excellent programming to our participants. This includes:
- Delivering science classes in an engaging and fun manner;
- Safely managing the operations of a rock climbing tower;
- Operating a low ropes and high ropes course;
- Assisting with meals;
- Helping with general maintenance projects;
- Coordinating logistics for groups
- Providing excellent customer service to visiting groups; and,
- Working cooperatively with all members of the community.
- Our Outdoor Education Gurus exemplify a high personal and professional standard of integrity and show incredible passion for the program.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant area is preferable; or equivalent life experience.
- Applicants should be aged 21 or over and have experience of and a passion for working with young people.
Duration:
- 3, 5 or 8 months
- Start Date: March 25, 2013
- Hours: Variable. During spring and fall our staff only stay in cabins with children during occasional vacation retreats. 2 days off per week.
Compensation: Pay is $330 per week and includes comfortable housing and all meals. Cape Cod is an awesome place to live, and you will have access to a wide range of outdoor recreation equipment to help you enjoy it.
