Position Overview:
Design, develop, test and troubleshoot power electrical circuits for photovoltaic (PV) microinverters and associated test equipment. Provide significant contribution to inverter product development including but not limited to design verification, product reliability and value engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Develop cutting edge DC to AC photovoltaic microinverters and small string inverters, including the designing of converting circuitry, power supply, embedded processor, low voltage control and sensing.
- Conduct electrical component selection.
- Conduct electrical simulations.
- Operate test equipment such as programmable AC and DC power supplies, oscilloscopes and power analyzers to test inverters.
- Develop design verification requirements and test methods and execute accordingly.
- Contribute to the improvement and optimization of existing inverter designs and concepts.
- Contribute to design documentation and production specification release.
- Design circuits in compliance with photovoltaic inverter product standards such as UL 1741, IEEE 1547 and 1547.1 and other applicable standards and regulations.
- Contribute to a project development team including participation in product development cycle meetings to conduct product requirement, design, scheduling and risk assessment reviews.
Qualifications:
Education:
BS in technical field, electrical engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum 2+ years in electronic/electrical industry. (e.g. Inverter or switch mode power supply development)

- Ability to work within a team engineers to meet project objectives;
- Computer literacy skills;
- Clear written, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in photovoltaic inverter electrical circuitry design
- Proven experience and expertise in inverter related technologies (e.g. PWM, MPPT, PLC, EMI suppression, embedded processing and firmware development)
- Familiarity with product development requirements in an ISO 9001 environment
