Position Overview:
Manages contractors, projects, and back office systems (software and hardware) to support and improve NV Energy's growing portfolio of Demand Response programs with an emphasis on the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of new technology and systems. Creates, implements, and improves business processes that support delivery of multiple demand response programs in the residential, commercial, and agricultural sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, contractor administration and full performance of large multiple complex EE & C programs that requires ownership and implementation of budgets, regulatory definition and compliance to meet cost & schedule. Programs typically are 1M+ in size, with PM III handling 3-5 projects annually as specified by management. Integrates new IT tools and software --leveraging Service Oriented Architecture with Web Services-into Demand Response business processes, vendor management, and program implementation.
- Negotiates critical issues pertaining to the success of each project with internal and external customers pertaining to all program activities. Performs contract negotiation and management for contractors that provide services to Demand Response programs. Initial focus will be on Demand Response Management and Home Area Network systems. Ensures delivery of services and functionality by testing and demonstrating adherence to defined business process and functional specifications. Manages vendors and contract performance, invoices, and change orders.
- Plans, directs and coordinates all activities to accomplish program objective on time and on budget.
- Manages the selection process and efforts of all outside contractors and vendors.
- Provides leadership role in regulatory process such as development of Demand Side portion of the company's Integrated Resource Plan and recovery of Demand Side expenditures. Collaborates with team members from a wide range of internal Utility business functions including IT, Telecommunications, Resource Planning and Optimization, Customer Service, Metering, Rates and Regulatory Affairs, Distribution Planning, and others.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Preferred 8-10 years of Project Management experience.
- Preferred learning as a CEM (Certified Energy Manager) with minimum formal education.
- Requires knowledge of and/or proficiency with business process management software, database and data warehouse technologies, and Web 2.0 tools and strategies.
- Familiarity with SOA with Web Services concepts and/or implementations is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology Computer Science, Engineering or related interdisciplinary degree. Masters Degree Preferred.
- Willingness for continuous education both formal and vocational
