ecobeco is a "green" company that advises consumers on a whole home approach to saving energy and improving comfort in the home. ecobeco provides Home Energy Audits and Quick Home Energy Check-ups to home owners in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties. ecobeco has won the Maryland Energy Administration Contractor of the Year Award, the Pepco Home Energy Savings Award, and the Angie's List Super Service Award.
We focus on: 1) ways to save money on utility bills by reducing energy and water use; 2) ways to improve the comfort of the interior environment by focusing on temperature, humidity, and the quality of air and water inside the home; and 3) ways to reduce the customer's environmental impact. ecobeco turns this advice into action by providing the products and services customers need to change their homes and their habits.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an Accounting and Human Resources Manager to start immediately. Candidate should have at least a few years of relevant experience. You will work out of our office in Rockville, MD. Due to our growth, you will be our Accounting and Human Resources department, reporting to the President of the company.
Your areas of responsibilities will include managing payables and receivables for the company, managing bank deposits, managing quickbooks, and ensuring that our invoices to utilities are correct and processed on a timely basis. You will manage the hiring process, payroll and employee benefits. You will a critical part of helping our customers save energy, money and the environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience in accounting or book-keeping. We use Quickbooks on-line and Intuit On-line Payroll to manage the business. Experience with Quickbooks is helpful but not required.
- Understanding of basic Human Resources rules, and a desire to learn more.
- Exceptionally detailed oriented.
- Great listening skills
- Friendly demeanor and good with people.
- Creative. You'll be building these departments from scratch with help from the company President.
- Ability to follow directions and learn quickly
- Positive attitude
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- College degree.

Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position that starts in the low $40s and is eligible for bonuses. The position includes health care benefits, paid vacation, and paid holidays.
