Position Overview:
Direct the quality assurance, quality control and compliance functions to improve quality and reduce rework orders. Plan, development, establish and maintain effective quality processes, systems, and Good Manufacturing Practice compliance. This includes supporting internal business requirements, resources and staffing. Manage a team of 5.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain policies and processes that assure the company's products consistently meet the quality standards necessary for complete customer satisfaction.
- Formulate and manage the development and implementation of QA/QC goals, and objectives.
- Establish and implement metrics for monitoring quality standards and department's effectiveness. Ensure targets are achieved.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality system to maintain compliance with internal requirements and applicable Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
- Formalize protocol and decision-making process for testing new samples including selecting which tests to conduct, anticipated timeframe and supporting tracking system.
- Manage and maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials. Create a defined "release process" including the inspection and review of critical new customer documents to insure accurate understanding of customer needs and quality standards at initiation.
- Develop an internal audit process to confirm accuracy of quality systems and insure no internal conflicts.
- Develop and authorize specifications, master and batch records, quality policies and procedures, and other quality related documents.
- Support customer quality and compliance needs
- Investigate and resolve product and or process problems related to quality and regulatory issues.
- Manage staff and budget.
Qualifications:
BS in science related field, Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred. 8-10 years CGMP experience in the dietary supplement, food-ingredient, pharmaceutical or related industry managing quality assurance, quality control and compliance functions with exacting standards. Minimum 3 years management experience. Botanical experience preferred. Strong math, analytical and problem solving skills.
Successful track record effectively managing and developing staff within an entrepreneurial environment. Strong communication skills with proven ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing team.
