Description
SEE (Social Environmental Economic) Innovation is a national nonprofit working to build awareness, capacity, and structures for social and environmental transformation. SEE Innovation has 3 active programs.
Position Overview:
Our newest program is the Project for Improved Environmental Coverage (PIEC). The objective of this project is to improve environmental news coverage in the mainstream media. You would be working on the design of this site, primarily. We currently have a site for this project, built on WordPress (environmentalcoverage.org), but desire changes and web maintenance. Opportunities may exist to assist with websites for our other programs as well.
Responsibilities:
Perform updates to project website such as updating text, image and photographs, fixing broken links, and improving look and feel.
Adding additional features as requested by program staff, such as the integration of a tool that allows visitors to enter their zip code and send a letter to their local media outlets.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of HTML and WordPress required.
- 2-5 years web design/development experience preferred.
- Experience in environmental conservation/advocacy a plus.
- A critical thinker with the ability to work independently.
Dates and Location: Looking to fill this position as soon as possible and work will commence in January. Location should be in the US.
Compensation: $25/hour. Number of hours agreed upon with manager in advance of work.
