(OAI) is a dynamic consulting firm in Washington, DC and New York whose mission is to help non-profit organizations through the following services: 1) development outsourcing, 2) strategic development consulting, 3) non-profit management, and 4) event marketing and management. Position Overview:
The Associate Director, Marketing and Communications is a key position for OAI as we grow in the Washington, DC and New York markets. Working with our Managing Directors, Senior Consultants, and Department Heads, you will lead the new business and communications efforts for the company. You will report to the Department Head, OAI Administration and will have support from Associate(s), as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Working with OAI Management Team to develop and manage an overall communications strategy to grow and sustain new business cultivation efforts
- Managing concept creation, fact-gathering, writing, and editing of articles for company and client publications (includes website, e-newsletters, brochures, and other marketing materials as needed)
- Managing cultivation activities for OAI Management Team and others, such as workshops, speaking at industry conferences, seminars, webinars, forums, etc.
- Managing new business efforts to include prospect lists, coordinating follow-up tactics by the Managing Directors and Senior Consultants, coordinating internal approval of new business documents, etc.
- Producing new business proposals and materials
- Coordinating with web consultants and designers, as needed
- Finding solutions and implement new ideas for OAI
- Supervising quality and efficiency of team Associate; mentor and train Associate-level employees
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in related field a plus
- 3-5 years professional experience in communications, marketing, and new business development; demonstrated experience with non-profit sector or consulting firm, a plus
- 2+ years team or project management experience required
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience with marketing technology such as Constant Contact, Dreamweaver, etc.
- Ability to form relationships with diverse groups of people - excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information
- Self-starter who is comfortable managing several projects at once in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to succeed in a dynamic, demanding, self-driven atmosphere - entrepreneurial spirit a must!
- Willingness to work long hours, as needed
