Position Overview:
Manage the day to day implementation of corporate real estate projects such as carbon accounting, climate change, environmental performance, waste management, green leasing, green building, LEED certification, and other areas of sustainability as necessary. Oversee the mitigation of the Client's direct impacts on the environment as a result of Real Estate Operations (Direct impacts include: Energy, Water, Waste, CO2). Responsibility for timely and accurate reporting to CBRE and client management as well as periodic disclosure reporting to approved third party entities such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Responsible for setting own project deadlines that compliment leadership's objectives and goals. Support and develop scope of work for sustainability related projects in support of obtaining corporate real estate goals and objectives, energy efficiency improvements, and reducing and/or eliminating environmental impacts.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to engineering, project management, and property functions within company's account team and client's Corporate Real Estate teams.
- Assist in the compilation of portfolio metric data to show annual results of sustainability goals and present to client. Data to reflect impact on portfolio and environment.
- Support third-party sustainability reporting opportunities/requirements in accordance with client reporting standards and other reputation enhancing activities.
- Support approved initiatives with sustainability-related issues and identify supporting energy savings projects/opportunities.
- Develop sustainability communications for key stakeholders as assigned. Create and maintain industry research library and track sustainability trends.
- Assist in the development of objectives and scope narratives and financial summaries to include payback analysis in support of energy related efforts.
- Research and recommend current sustainable business choices and develop plans for evaluation and implementation.
- Consistently evaluate specific areas to strengthen partnerships, protocols, research, education, and marketing.
- Review, revise, recommend, and implement sustainable practices as appropriate for each program, project, or site.
- Establish means of communicating best practices throughout the system through reports, meetings, educational events, websites, etc.
Oversee and support the work of field teams who implement sustainability strategies. Provide technical and/or professional advice to team members.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4 year College or university and a minimum of 4 to 6 years of related experience and/or training. Must possess basic understanding of green building concepts and design as well as incorporating sustainable policies and practices in a commercial real estate environment. Must possess experience in the implementation of sustainable projects.
Communication Skills:
Candidate must have the ability to write reports and executive summaries in a pre-designed format. The ability to effectively understand and route complex inquiries from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management is desirable including the ability to present information to an internal department. The successful applicant must be able to comprehend and interpret instructions and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
Financial Knowledge:
The position requires knowledge of financial terms and principles, the ability to calculate intermediate figures such as discounts and rebates and to conduct basic financial analyses focusing on cash flow models highlighting internal rate of return (IRR) and simple payback.
Reasoning Ability:
The applicant must have the ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in varying situations. Requires analytical and quantitative skills.
Other Skills and/or Abilities:
A strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required (excel, power point especially).
