Harvest Power manages organic waste using advanced technologies to produce renewable energy and high value soil and organic fertilizer products. The company gains control of waste streams through acquisitions in key local markets, and uses its own technologies and those of others to generate natural gas and electricity. Harvest is transforming the organic waste business by extracting maximum value from these waste streams.

The team is dedicated to harvesting waste materials and beneficially re-using organic materials, turning them into soils, fertilizers, energy, and engineered fuels. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst in our Corporate Headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in developing and managing the planning, forecasting, management reporting and analytical tools for Harvest Power corporate and all sites. This position will provide decision support and assist in driving forward-looking business and operational planning, ongoing business and financial analysis, and business and financial metrics measurement, analysis and forecasting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and formalization of financial planning, forecasting, reporting and variance analysis functions. Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive analytical suite of tools and systems (planning models, forecasting models, analysis models, dashboards, management reports) necessary to support and optimize financial and business decisions for Harvest Power corporate and all sites.
- Assist accounting team in preparation of monthly accruals.
- Prepare monthly reporting packages supporting review of financial performance against forecasts.
- Assist operational and corporate management with understanding variances against plan and forecast, and understanding financial levers for maximizing business performance.
- Assist CFO in developing and driving annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting process and quarterly and monthly management reviews.
- Assist with preparation of Board packages.
- Support corporate needs for ad-hoc analysis, reporting, presentations, business reviews and management presentations.
- Establish strong relationships and liaise with regional controllers and operational management regarding budgets, forecasts, actual expenses, management and operational reporting.
Qualifications:
- Requires BA or BS, Finance, Economics or Related field, with 5-7 years of relevant experience. MBA preferred.
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, with a demonstrated ability of using quantitative analysis to drive business decisions.
- Experience in a financial planning role in a hyper-growth environment is required.
- Experience working in a geographically dispersed and matrixed organization. Manufacturing experience highly desirable, renewable energy a plus
- Demonstrated high level of critical thinking, ability to question output of a financial model and consider options for improvement (financially and operationally)
- Previous experience developing dashboards, management reporting packages, financial analysis tools and processes
- Previous experience driving or playing a key supporting role in managing annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Unquestionable ethics and integrity.
- Strong leadership skills, high energy, initiative and creativity.
- Diligent and highly accurate with extreme attention to detail and organization
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Experience in renewable energy is a plus
- Advanced Excel modeling skills and competency in Word and PowerPoint.
