Description

Responsibilities:
- Establishes close relationships with end users, specifiers, and constructors, establishing Ilsco as an approved/preferred supplier on all Ilsco components.
- Introduces all new and existing product offerings as required to achieve specifications with targeted end users, specifying influences, turn key operations, and key decision makers within targeted verticals such as solar, wind energy, and telecommunication markets.
- Supplies Director of Marketing and Product Managers with end user, specifier, and designer requirements in order to successfully achieve specifications and approvals.
- Follows competitive activities closely: pricing, promotions, new products and services, and reports all related activity to department Vice President.
- Maintains superior knowledge of Ilsco product offerings: feature, function, benefit, as well as applications and installation methods and is able to make professional presentations as required.
- Familiar with industry standards, specifications, classifications, codes and approvals.
- Prepares timely and accurate call reports, expense account reconciliations and, on a weekly basis, documents all calls and expenses in the approved electronic format.
This position reports to our Vice President of Distribution, Marketing & Sales.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS in Business Administration with a focus in marketing and/or sales or related engineering degree
- Minimum of 10 years of field sales and/or marketing in distribution-served markets including: OEMs, MROs, Industrials, Institutions, Military, Government, Electrical Contractors, Electrical Specifiers and Specifying influences, Turn Key Design and Build Operations
- Knowledge of renewable energy segment desired
- Familiarity with electrical distribution, electrical connector application and specifications, the construction bid process, NEC, UL, CSA, IEEE and related codes, boards, testing agencies, and industry related local codes and electrical inspection communities
- Knowledge of distribution channels and competitive product offerings
- Experienced in handling national account level negotiations
- Extensive travel requirements; 70% in the field, national scope
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, CRM, or equivalent systems
- Excellent presentation skills
