With today's soaring energy costs, it just makes sense to inspect your home or business for energy inefficiencies so that you can then address those areas that will be most cost effective. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a green building/LEED AP business development sales professional to support our expanding efforts in the Houston market. Our customer base consists of custom home builders, production home builders, architects, and commercial & residential clients.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in building science fundamentals, green building, and have strong B2B sales experience. In addition to green science sales skills, priority will be placed on attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Entrepreneurial thinking is strongly encouraged. The position is based out of a home office, however, most time will be spent out in the field with commercial clients.

Responsibilities: 

Position Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Qualify and Manage incoming leads that arrive by email/phone
  • Conduct cold calls to targeted market segments
  • Plan, organize, and control commercial client sales within the Houston market
  • Develop requests for bids and proposals, and negotiate contract pricing
  • Manage energy efficiency projects, LEED for Homes projects, LEED AP projects
  • Participate in strategic planning to develop and capture new sales opportunities
  • Conducting presentations to architects, custom home builders, and other customer groups
  • Participate in conferences and marketing efforts as required

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook)
  • BS/BA or AA degree & background in building science, construction management, architecture, engineering, or real estate
  • Passionate about energy efficiency, green building, and building performance
  • Strong communication, organization, and sales management skills
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Strongly preferred- HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rater, LEED AP
  • 3+ years of professional B2B sales experience, preferably calling on C level executives.
  • A proven track record of meeting and/or exceeding performance objectives
  • Well-networked within the local building and architect community
  • Disciplined enough to work from a home office
