Sustainable Industries is a San Francisco-based company with team members throughout the West. Our mission is to create a new B2B media experience for leaders of the New Economy.

Position Overview:

Sustainable Industries seeks 2 experienced, goal-oriented and entrepreneurial individual to serve as Account Executives for the company's independent, award-winning monthly business magazine, Sustainable Industries, its affiliated web site, quarterly Sustainable Business Guides, webinars, podcasts, e-and newsletters, and the popular Sustainable Industries Economic Forum event series. Sustainable Industries is a fast-growing media business with plans for major expansion, offering unique growth opportunities. Both the California-based and Pacific Northwest-based Account Executive will work from a home office and collaborate with other members of the Business Team to grow a book of business as an integral member of the Business Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Advertising and sponsorship sales through personal meetings, phone calls, network and overall relationship building to businesses and agencies within your geographic territory and beyond;
  • Act as a key representative of the company in the community;
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and participate in daily Check-In Meetings, weekly Business Team meetings, monthly All-Staff meetings, and twice-annual All-Staff Retreats;
  • Maintain quality account management with detailed Salesforce reporting, proposal writing, follow-up, closing and customer service for major clients;
  • Create new opportunities, experiences and packages for clients and collaborate with the President and other colleagues on partnerships, marketing and overall product development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience with demonstrated track record of success meeting and exceeding goals;
  • Existing business relationships to call upon;
  • Advanced skills and experience working with Salesforce and Excel;
  • Basic understanding and strong interest in business and sustainability issues;
  • Sophisticated marketing knowledge (MBA preferred) and tested skills;
  • Self-motivated, outgoing, positive, professional, respectful personality;
  • Excellent collaboration, presentation and verbal and written communication skills;
  • Enthusiasm working with small, tight-knit team;
  • Ability to travel on occasion for 2-3 day periods.

Compensation:  The full-time Account Executive positions are largely commission-based, with the most generous commission rates in the industry. Certain compensation and expense details are negotiable commensurate with experience. A monthly health and wellness stipend is available after 3 full months of employment. All employees have the option to participate in a company-matching retirement plan after 2 years of employment.
