Position Overview:
Chemonics International seeks chief of party candidates for anticipated USAID-funded projects across Asia. Responsibilities include: provide overall implementation and oversight of project field activities and personnel under USAID contracts through strategic direction and technical leadership; coordinate project activities with host-country governments, other donor agencies, civil society, the private sector, and relevant counterparts; manage expatriate and national personnel; oversee project finance and administration and contract compliance; and prepare all project deliverables.
Anticipated projects cover the following environmental sub-areas:
- Natural resources management
- Climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Forestry
- Energy
- Environmental governance
- Coastal fisheries management.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in relevant field preferred; minimum 10 years of experience managing and implementing donor-funded projects, preferably for USAID; direct programmatic experience in one or more of the technical sub-areas listed above; experience collaborating with a broad range of government officials, international donors, and private-sector stakeholders; demonstrated competence in leadership, client relations, and project and contract management; excellent written and oral communications skills; experience working in the Asia region preferred and fluency in English required.
