Position Overview:
Growing solar company is seeking an experienced solar construction manager to oversee all of its "preferred solar installation contractors" in Southern California. The Solar Installer Construction Manager will be responsible for: acquiring, training, maintaining solar installation quality standards, recruiting a network of high quality crews of solar installers, troubleshooting various solar installation problems, and establishing strong relations with teams of preferred solar installers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that preferred solar installers are maintaining excellent installation standards
- Enroll preferred solar installers into company's network
- Quality assure installation skills and commitment to best practices of preferred installers during the vetting process
- Create and oversee training of preferred installers in company's standardized installation techniques
- Ensure that teams of preferred solar installers are continually learning cutting edge best practices that maintain quality and reduce installation costs
- Reduce installation payments over time with higher training and lower equipment pricing
- Manage a team of Technical Account Representatives that will oversee and approve of every job prior to dispatching a preferred installer to complete the installation. These employees may be located in our target markets and working remotely.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with preferred solar installation teams and resolve issues that arise with preferred installers in a timely and responsible manner.
Qualifications:
- California contractor's license applicable to solar installations: C-10 and/or C-46, NABCEP certification strongly preferred
- At least 3 to 5 years experience working as lead installer, construction manager, or general manager.
- Customer service skills
- Relationship management skills
- Highly experienced manager, adept at managing a number of different teams simultaneously
- Experience working with a consistent set of sub-contractors
- Hands-on management style to fit in with our culture
- A commitment to quality, high attention to detail, and a passion for solar/renewable energy
Compensation: An attractive compensation package consisting of base salary, performance based bonuses, and stock participation will be offered to the final candidate.
