This growing business has an impressive and expanding list of clients that are engaged within a broad offering that includes feasibility studies, climate policy advising, corporate climate strategies, GHG measurement, management strategies and green marketing.
As the marketplace evolves, the opportunities are plentiful for creating a positive environmental impact while assisting in Ecos' growth. As a result, the Business Solutions team is now seeking a Director of Energy Management. In this key role, you will report to our VP of Business Solutions and have the opportunity to significantly impact our continued success.
Position Overview:
As the Director of Energy Management, you will be responsible for the strategic energy planning and demand- side savings acquisition for our clients in multiple sectors such as retail, hotel/hospitality and food service. You will develop energy roadmaps and operational plans, negotiate agreements, manage a team, and generate sales by interfacing with client executives.
You will be responsible to effectively communicate the value proposition for energy management and demand side savings, it's interaction with sustainability efforts, and consult on issues ranging from purchase of technology to building an energy culture within the company.
Working with the clients and the business solutions team, you will review and analyze financial and market intelligence to develop new products and services. You will build business cases and financial models for business development programs under evaluation. Additionally, you will review proposals to determine Profit & Loss feasibility, labors costs, timeline, funding, and staffing requirements to meet company and business unit goals.
You will utilize your leadership skills to acquire, lead, train, develop and retain team leaders, project managers and technical talent to ensure consistent quality delivery of our business line solutions. In addition, you will ensure efficient utilization of financial and labor resources by communicating, coordinating and negotiating with other internal departments on business development activities.
Qualifications:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in energy, preferably managing energy and demand side programs in the commercial sector. A Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is required and an advanced degree in business or engineering is preferred. Additionally, you will have a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in business development and/or client relationship management.
You will have proven experience successfully leading, managing, developing and mentoring cross-functional and matrix-managed teams. A strong background in managing P&L and/or departmental budgets is essential, with experience in financial and marketing analysis. Furthermore, you have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work in diverse and matrixed organizations. Experience in financial and marketing analysis is important as well.
