Position Overview:

We need an accomplished, experienced and conscientious program director to oversee one of WERF's Key Research Areas - Wastewater/Stormwater Infrastructure and Asset Management. Your exceptional coordination, facilitation, multitasking and project management skills will enable you to make immediate and valuable contributions in this highly visible and crucial role.

Responsibilities:

As our Program Director in our Alexandria, VA location, your primary mission will be to direct and coordinate wastewater/stormwater infrastructure and asset management research programs. Outstanding coordination and facilitation skills will be invaluable as a significant amount of your time will be spent leading technical advisory groups to get their input and feedback on research directions, findings and outcomes.

Qualifications:

Your ability to form and cultivate solid relationships with these individuals and groups, many of whom are leading experts in the field of water quality research, will be crucial to your success in the role. An essential part of this position will be your ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines as you will oversee and direct the planning, coordination, implementation and technical review of contracted research efforts at various stages of completion. Your talent for developing supplemental research funds through cultivating partnerships and collaborations with individuals and organizations dedicated to improving water quality will be critical.

Most importantly, your strong organization and verbal and written communication skills will allow you to effectively plan and maintain communications of the plans, findings and deliverables from the research in both written and verbal formats with a wide variety of stakeholders and for various purposes.
