Our energy professionals have extensive knowledge in all areas of the energy value chain from production to consumption and functional expertise in Engineering, Fuel, Power, Energy Management, Finance, Regulatory affairs, and Risk Management.

Position Overview: 

The Carbon Management division within Pace provides strategic and tactical services to assist clients plan for and manage financial risk associated with a carbon constrained economy. Services provided include carbon policy analysis; greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and data management services; carbon project development services, advocacy strategy; and environmental market opportunity assessments.

Pace is currently seeking highly motivated individuals for consideration for the position of Analyst. Candidates should demonstrate strong quantitative skills and have academic or professional experience relating to energy markets, carbon and environmental markets, policy, and / or accounting protocols.

Responsibilities: 

Roles and responsibilities of the carbon inventory analyst at a minimum include:

  • Analyze data to support the GHG inventory activities, including coordination with utility data collection specialists and clients, calculation of GHG emissions using energy conversion values and emissions factors, and application of industry best practices for emissions quantification.
  • Collect, organize, and communicate developments related to GHG/Carbon legislation and various compliance and voluntary reporting requirements and carbon markets.
  • Coordinate with field assessment teams to quantify carbon offset and project reduction opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, white papers, presentations; spreadsheets and other client deliverables.
  • Conceptualize and create presentation materials in support of marketing and sales collateral.

Qualifications: 

Candidates for the Analyst position should hold at a minimum a B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Energy or Environmental Science or a related quantitative field and have an interest in pursuing a career in the energy/environmental industry. Preferred candidates will have experience in the GHG/carbon inventory and will possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Candidates with incremental carbon related qualifications, consulting, and/or project management experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered for more senior level positions.
