Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

Silver Spring Networks seeks a Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Perform the complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and assist with month-end close
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
• Special projects and analysis as required
• Prepare ad hoc reporting for management as required

• Reports to: Controller

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Minimum 3 yrs of public accounting experience; CPA is a plus
• Strong conceptual and practical experience in preparing financial reports.
• Solid knowledge of current US GAAP is required
• Must have relevant accounting experience in the software and/or hardware industry
• Oracle (ideally version 11i) and advanced excel skills required
• Revenue recognition experience desired
• Process improvement skills, particularly in a Sarbanes-Oxley environment, are a plus
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, business partnering and managerial skills are essential
• Must be detail oriented, intelligent, confident, self-motivated, and energetic
• Able to accomplish work with little supervision in a start up environment.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
