Position Overview:
With guidance, performs in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the interior design process, including preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, design development, contract documents, renderings and construction administration activities within an established budget, schedule, site and programmatic requirements.
Responsibilities:
Uphold all Gettys initiatives and goals, support the Gettys culture and apply creativity towards all internal and external projects.
Design:
- Work under the general direction of the senior team member
- Prepare the selection of FF&E materials for design projects
- Perform development of FF&E specifications, budgets, documentation and fabricating material boards as directed by senior team member
- Work with vendors to compile pricing, availability and samples of FF&E materials
- Assist in the process of receiving quotes and recording FF&E selections
- Execute shipments of documents, samples and general correspondence to consultants, team members and clients
- Perform specification writing for design projects
- Prepare preliminary design concepts and alternatives for review by senior team member
- Exercise creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials including: graphic sketches, renderings, models and graphics
- Prepare drawings for schematic design and design development
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor/ Master's Degree in Interior Design/Architecture
- Associates of Arts in Interior Design/Architecture
- All Degrees must come from a CIDA Accredited program or equivalent accredited Architectural program
Experience:
- 2-4 years of both hospitality or non-hospitality design professional experience
- Understanding of design principals and theory
- Knowledge of construction materials, Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) specifications/ providers
- LEED® AP or within 1 year of hire
- Prepare and begin process for application of professional examination
Required Skills:
- Proficient with Auto CAD (current office release preferred)
- Presentation Drawing
- Color and Materials
- Graphic skills in InDesign, Photoshop and SketchUp
- Presentation board fabrication
- Demonstrates collaborative & professional work ethic
- Understanding of specification writing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
