TechLaw, Inc. provides consulting services in the environmental, health, safety, economic, and social arenas.
Position Overview:
TechLaw, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual with 3+ years of work experience in the environmental field. Anticipated activities include working as part of a team on a variety of site remediation and redevelopment projects. Activities will range from conducting site assessments, document reviews, in-depth research, site investigations, and report writing in order to analyze the environmental impact of a site to human health and the environment under TechLaw's START Region 1 Contract for the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
This position will involve travel throughout New England (and occasionally throughout the country) to potentially contaminated sites to participate in field work, including site visits and sampling activities. Research will also be conducted at federal and state agencies, town offices, and local libraries to collect documents and conduct research. Additional activities may include providing environmental enforcement support such as conducting property ownership (title) research, corporate research, and financial reviews.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in environmental studies, geology, or a related field
- Field experience (with OSHA 40 hour and CPR certification preferred) including experience conducting sampling of soil and water
- Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Excellent research, analytical, verbal, and writing skills
- High degree of self motivation with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work with others and take direction
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
- A positive attitude and a sense of humor
- This position requires some travel; a valid driver's license is required.
