Description
World Wildlife Fund, the global conservation organization, seeks a Program Officer, Aquaculture to serve as the US Aquaculture Program's primary point of contact with European seafood buyers (e.g., retailers, food service companies and restaurants) to raise awareness about and build support for the Aquaculture Dialogues.
The WWF-initiated Dialogues are a series of roundtable meetings held worldwide to develop standards for responsible seafood farming. The Program Officer also will help promote the Aquaculture Dialogues using various communications and marketing tools, such as the media and Internet. This position will be based in Europe (United Kingdom).
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required. A graduate degree in aquaculture, coastal zone management, natural resources management, business, marketing, communications or related field is preferred. |
3-5 years experience in the marketing/PR or conservation/international development/natural resources management fields is required. Also requires an understanding of certification, standards development and aquaculture issues.
Must have strong skills in project management, strategy development and implementation; proven ability to facilitate the work of others, take initiative, use independent judgment and work effectively as a team member; and fluency in written and spoken English, with knowledge of another language (especially French, German, or Spanish).
