Photovoltaic Solar Array Designer

Vista Solar is a newly formed and rapidly growing photovoltaic installation company. We perform installations on both residential and commercial facilities. However, our target market is large commercial installations.

Position Overview:

Vista Solar is currently looking to fill a PV Solar Array Designer position for Commercial and Residential properties. In addition to being able to fulfill the responsibilities listed below, the ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about the future of solar.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with customers to design the installation appropriate for their needs
2. Perform preliminary assessments and site surveys
3. Design residential and commercial PV solar systems for existing and new applications
4. Produce site and line drawings for all installations using CAD
5. Recommend well-engineered, quality components
6. Work with the Installation Manager to create system quotes

• Comply with applicable building and electrical codes
• Locate and orient array to maximize performance and accessibility
• Meet accepted utility interconnection practices
• Pass inspections, commissioning and acceptance tests
• Attempt to meet or exceed the aesthetic requirements of the custome

8. Complete work in a timely manner

Qualifications:

1. Ability to perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
2. Prior experience working in the solar industry preferred
3. Proficient with Office Suite and AutoCAD
4. Minimum B.S. degree (Electrical Engineering preferred)
5. Excellent organization skills
6. Clean driving record
7. English speaking
