Project Engineer

Hailo LLC, a leading German manufacturer of above ground and below ground ladder systems, is expanding!

We have established a sales office, warehouse and have moved into our own factory here in Holbrook on Long Island and would like to hire someone for the Mechanical Engineer position.

Until now, Hailo has worked together with major wind turbine manufacturers installing our ladders and fall arresting systems. We need your expertise to implement, refine, improve and create our products here in the U.S for customer needs.

Job Description:

• Research and Development of products to U.S. standards including improving power service lifts, climbing assists, fall arresting systems, access panels and ladder systems for customers
• Work closely with CEO in product innovation and new technology advances
• Refine products in compliance with OSHA, CSA and ANSI standards
• Give technological consultation in manufacturing, R&D, operational and technological areas of company
• Work together with customers to develop products specifically to customer needs
• Improve existing products as needed in quality control
• Recommending systems, tools, models, for improvement of manufacturing and production capabilities and efficiencies
• Partial Responsibility of Quality Control
• Other projects as needed

Job Experience:

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a degree equivalent to this
• Must have experience reading  and creating technical drawings with PRO E 
• 4 to 6 years of experience or more in this field or a field somewhat close to this
• Intensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems
• Should have some knowledge of ISO 9001
• Strong knowledge of creating technical specifications and Bill of Materials
• Strong process, technical and analytical skills a must, as well as good problem solving skills
• Ability to work closely in a manufacturing setting with production manager
• Experience in working with testing labs for OSHA, ANSI, CSA standard testing 
• Must have strong personality and willing to work in fast paced environment
• Must be willing to travel frequently to customers internationally and domestically
• German skills a plus
