World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the global conservation organization, seeks a Senior Administrative Assistant for the Conservation Leadership Programs team. The candidate will perform a variety of administrative duties to support the Director of Conservation Leadership and other program staff.
This position will support two major programs the Nissan-WWF Environmental Leadership Program and Education for Nature (EFN). The Nissan-WWF Environmental Leadership Program empowers talented and motivated young leaders on college campuses to become effective advocates for the environment. The program does so by providing invaluable opportunities for students to learn about today's most challenging environmental issues and gain hands-on experience in conservation by participating in scientific research and volunteer activities in WWF priority places in the US and overseas.
WWF's Education for Nature Program seeks to build a competent corps of well-trained conservationists in Africa, Asia, and Latin America by providing graduate scholarships and small grants for short-term training. EFN annually supports over 300 individuals in some 40 countries, making it one of the largest capacity building programs for conservationists in the developing world.
In addition to providing administrative support to the department and program, the SAA will also be responsible for making logistical arrangements for both programs, including handling travel and housing arrangements for students and developing detailed program itineraries for study tours. The position involves frequent interaction with US students and EFN grantees abroad. The position will involve some travel.
Basic requirements include a Bachelor's degree plus two years of work experience. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. Experience with publication layout and design is highly desired as well as knowledge of Adobe InDesign. The successful candidate must be highly detailed-oriented with a strong ability to perform multiple tasks in a team environment. Study or work abroad experience is helpful. The ideal candidate will have strong second-language skills, particularly in Spanish, French and/or Portuguese.
