Responsibilities: 

This dynamic and dedicated professional will provide the strategic sales vision and operational leadership for the US Organic Food Retail Team. Working to ensure long-term sales growth and brand profitability. He/she will grow, develop, and manage key customer relationships while leveraging current broker network. Deliver "Excellence in Availability" and "Flawless Retail Execution" while creating a dynamic environment for employee development. 

 

The National Sales Manager will establish an environment of collaboration between Marketing, Supply, R&D, Plant, and Field Sales. Developing comprehensive retail strategies, tactics, and consumer events that generate long-term brand building results. 

 

Principal Accountabilities: 

· Deliver annual sales objectives for retail organic food
· Deliver annual profit target
· Build a retail sales team to be proficient in all key business areas including:
- Customer development
- Retail excellence
- Organics
· Possess a thorough understanding of the organic food segment and market. Determine and identify opportunities and develop business plans to exploit them.
· Manage all Retail Sales related P&L budgets within agreed spending levels, while minimizing expenditures where possible and ensuring value for all spending.
· Provide developmental opportunities for all retail sales employees. Create an environment that rewards risk taking and high-level employee performance.
· Must adhere to and uphold recognized business practices including the marketing code and supply/procurement quality policies. 

 

Core Requirements: 

· Approximately 75% travel
· Strong leadership and management skills
· Ability to present concepts and strategies to senior management
· Thorough understanding of marketing and sales within the CPG and organic industry
· An understanding of P&L, Supply, and Marketing 

 

Experience: 

· 6+ years Sales experience in the CPG industry
· Business degree, MBA highly preferred
· Working knowledge of, and relationships within, organic food industry
