Description
HARC, a private, not-for-profit applied scientific research facility dedicated to sustainable development, is located in The Woodlands, Texas, 30 miles north of Houston.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for coordinating and performing research and/or sustainable development strategies; maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories of green building; writes white papers and proposals for submission to funding sources; identifies potential new funding sources; makes public presentations on greenbuilding and other sustainability topics; investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of principles and concepts to potential energy efficiency projects, design challenges, and operational sustainability issues; plans and executes products and methods research for client implementation; makes contributions to discipline through literature, conferences and/or field presentations; executes LEED® documentation for client projects.
Education: Bachelors degree. Masters Preferred.
Experience: Must be accredited by the US Green Building Council (LEED); minimum of 5 years as an architect or engineer in residential, institutional and commercial architecture. Experience in strategic planning, programming, design, project management and commissioning in private and public environments is desirable.
Other Skills: Capable of demonstrating exceptional teamwork. Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills in English are critical.
Additional Criteria: Preference given to local candidates and those actively involved in green building activities on a local or national level. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US. Employment is based on fee for service charges and grants and contracts. Licensed Architect or Engineer preferred.
