Site Manager Center for Marine Resource Studies, Turks and Caicos Islands

The Site Manager, under the supervision of the Center Director, is responsible for site, facility and vehicle / boat management, maintenance, and repairs. These duties would include but not be limited to electronic/electrical repair, plumbing, boat repair (i.e., replacing fenders, changing propellers, opening engines). Bookeeping duties desired; Will train.

Minimum Qualifications:

-High School / Vocational / Technical Degree combined with relevant and demonstrated work experience.
-Maintenance and Construction experience including but not limited to basic carpentry, painting, rust proofing, minor electrical and plumbing repair and maintenance, and grounds keeping.
-Ability to maintain and repair vehicles, engines, boats.
-Experience working with building trade contractors and government agencies
-Experience managing projects through proposal, quote, contracting, and delivery stages.
-Supply ordering and inventory tracking experience.
-Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and Windows.
-Clean driving record and ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
-Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
-Strong interpersonal skills.
-Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
-Multi-tasker.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience living or working in host country or region.
-Working knowledge of Spanish language a plus.
-Ability to maintain and repair boat (outboard) engines.
-Familiarity with QuickBooks or Quicken Software a plus (will train).
-Current First Aid and CPR certifications are desirable but not required (will train).

Other Expectations:

-Ability to work well both as a team member and independently.
-Willingness to work flexible hours and live on site at the field station with a small team of permanent staff and groups of U.S. undergraduate students and visiting researchers or programs.
-Demonstrated commitment to environmental issues.

Preferred Start Date: ASAP

Salary: $19,000 USD plus on-site room and board, relocation, and an excellent benefits package.
