Yestermorrow Design/Build School is a dynamic nonprofit educational center located in the heart of Vermont's Mad River Valley. Founded in 1980, Yestermorrow offers more than 100 hands-on courses each year in design, construction, woodworking and architectural craft at the School's 38-acre residential campus.
Now in its 26th year, Yestermorrow utilizes the integrated design/build process as a tool to empower people to create an inspired built environment that promotes a more sustainable world. Yestermorrow's courses are taught by top architects, builders, and craftspeople from across the country, and are designed for people of all ages and experience levels, from novice to professional.
Position Summary
Yestermorrow Design/Build School seeks an energetic and resourceful professional to advance its strategic vision. The new Executive Director will possess the experience, skill, expertise and integrity necessary to foster an organization of excellence, expand programs and outreach, cultivate leadership capacity, and attract significant new resources and talent to this well-established, rapidly growing nonprofit organization.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, an effective team builder, and an enthusiastic fundraiser, with experience in managing organizational growth and change. He/she will have demonstrated experience as an Executive Director or equivalent, managing staff, budgets, contracts, fiscal reporting, fundraising, outreach and marketing, and organizational development.
The Executive Director will exercise broad management and leadership responsibility in developing and supervising all of Yestermorrow's facilities and programs, and will be supervised by a volunteer Board of Directors and its Executive Committee.
This position calls for an entrepreneurial spirit coupled with strong business and management skills. The new Executive Director will direct the operations of a growing non-profit organization with a current annual budget of approximately $500,000 and a staff of five.
