About Environmental, Social and Governance Analytics (ESG):
ISS' ESG screening services and tools are among the most respected in the business, used by investment managers who actively screen portfolios against social, environmental or governance performance metrics. The division offers powerful tools to investors to enable environmental and social screening and also offers leading corporate governance ratings tools (such as ISS' proprietary Corporate Governance Quotient, CGQ) to help investors evaluate and corporate performance.
Position Description:
ESG is currently seeking a full-time Research Analyst to be located in our Washington, DC office for a period of 3 months.
The temp will serve in a research and support function for division's portfolio screening product, a web-based tool for investment managers.
Primary responsibility will be to conduct research on corporate social and environmental performance on a distinct universe of companies. This will include news and publications searches, work within databases, review and processing of government data, and review of SEC filings and company websites.
Position may also include discussions with corporations directly.
Qualifications:
We seek highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in corporate social responsibility and/or social investment issues. The position requires Japanese language skills (spoken and written).
Current college-level coursework is required, though there are no restrictions on the discipline of study. Candidates with graduate-level coursework or relevant work experience also encouraged to apply.
Computer literacy, relentless attention to detail, strong organizational skills, a professional manner, and ability to work with sensitive issues a must. Experience with MS Access, and MS Excel a plus.
