Microfinance Practice Manager

About the Job:

Banyan Global is expanding its microfinance practice and seeks a senior microfinance technical advisor to build and manage Banyan Global's microfinance practice. 

Responsibilities include business development, program management, and technical assistance to Banyan Global's microfinance projects. 

The position will be based in New York with travel overseas. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Qualifications:

• Master's degree in economics, international development, or business;   
• At least ten years of experience in microfinance;   
• At least five years of experience in development consulting;   
• Proven track record in business development;   
• Chief-of-party experience desirable;   
• Experience as a technical assistance provider to microfinance institutions in an African or other developing country;   
• Capacity to interact effectively with people from different cultures and work with governments and donor agencies;   
• Strong entrepreneurial and management skills;   
• Ability to conduct business in English, orally and in writing;   
• Excellent communication and computer skills;   
• Fluency in Spanish or French preferred.
