The American Chestnut Land Trust (ACLT), a 20 year old non-profit land trust in southern Maryland, seeks a motivated professional, committed to land preservation, for the position of Executive Director.
Job Description:
This full-time salaried position, responsible to a 16 member Board of Directors, provides managerial support to ACLT's primary functions of land preservation, land stewardship and public outreach.
This position is responsible for the oversight of ACLT's five-year strategic plan, ensuring compliance with accepted standards for land trusts, meeting with landowners, fundraising, grant writing, membership expansion and newsletter publication. The position also supervises three salaried positions.
The work schedule frequently includes activities on weekends and evenings.

Job Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and experience in land trust work, real estate, non-profit administration or business management.
Essential skills include excellent writing and effective public speaking. Desired attributes include strong leadership qualities, supervisory skills, good organization, a self-starter, flexibility and resiliency.
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience and background; full health benefits and retirement plan available.
